Tonks

If you've looked at last weeks Illo-Fri Drawing, you know that drawing was of a character from Harry Potter. I really enjoyed giving my own personal spin on something I read from that book so I decided to do a few more. This one is Nymphadora Tonks. I'll post others soon!

Illustration Friday-Reflection

Having grown up in a household with two sisters and a single mom, I know for a fact that behind closed doors women become rock stars in front of mirrors. So this is dedicated to you ladies who always wanted to be truly outrageous.

Illustration Friday-Wisdom

Okay,I have a confession to make. This was not a drawing I did for "Wisdom". I racked my brain and drew a few different pictures, but I couldn't come up with something I was satisfied with for the subject. So instead I give you a drawing I did after reading the new Harry Potter book. If you have read the book this is my interpretation of Professor Slughorn. I promise next week will be something original.

Sega Dreamcast I LOVE You!!

Just as the title suggests, I love my SEGA Dreamcast. It was a system that deserved a longer lifespan, but I'm glad that it had a life at all. I still recall late-night sessions of Soul Caliber with my roommates Roy and Miguel. We would play until somebody threw something at the screen or at someone who had just handed them their ass for the hundredth time. It really had a way of making or destroying friendships that, to this day, I haven't experienced the same way with newer systems. The saddest thing about it is that it would have failed no matter how well it sold. SEGA had lost so much money with bad business practices that by the time the Dreamcast hit stores, it would have needed to sell millions of units in its first year just to stay in production. Alas, it couldn't do that, not by a long shot. Although, by most standards, it sold well, it couldn't make enough money to dig SEGA out of the hole they put themselves into. So it was taken out of production less than two years after its debut. So, to most, it was a flash in the pan system that was killed by the Playstation 2. I think it is still a cool little system. I still throw in Soul Caliber every once in a while and marvel how damn good it looks and plays.

I really wanted to have some sorta deep drawing with several layers of meaning, but then I ran out of milk, so this is what I came up with instead.

Originality is dead and Hollywood killed it

What has the world come to? This summer we get two film adaptations of old t.v. shows and at least two remakes of older films. Why do I bring this up you ask? I bring it up because over the years I've read countless screenplays people have posted on the internet, many of which would make wonderful films, and still we get remakes of Willy Wonka and the Dukes of Hazzard. I know that Hollywood is all about making money so it doesn't really surprise me, but I'd like to see an original film that doesn't come from the Independent Film machine. I hate the fact that you have to make a film with no redeeming qualities to be considered original. I know that there can be a movie that has a blockbuster feel to it without being a mindless rehash of things that were considered crap when they were new (cough..Dukes of Hazzard).
